Restaurant Review: Golden Thai (Capilano Mall, North Vancouver)
The dishes used to be good. I order the noodle soup most of the time. It has been a while since I visited Capilano Mall. I don't go to North Shore as often as I used to. It was lunch time and I decided to order the same thing I had before at this place called Golden Thai at the food court. I wasn't thrilled as I noticed they don't serve the chow mien type noodles anymore in the noodle soup. I got rice vermicelli noodles instead. I eat those at home all the time.
So after the first bite and sip of the soup, it was so bland. I went back and asked for packets of soy sauce. It made the flavour of the soup better. Near the end of finishing my noodles, I took a spoonful of soup and it was so gritty and salty! I tipped the bowl a little and saw a pile of salt that weren't even dissolved and mixed, realizing that it was sitting under all those noodles. "Seriously?", I thought. No wonder the first few bites were bland. The only good thing about it is that there were lots of meat though.
I ended up spitting out the rest and couldn't eat anymore. Not going back there again.
My rating: 2 stars
