Disney+ App Now Available Across Mobile and Connected TV Devices

Disney+, the highly anticipated streaming service from The Walt Disney Company, launched today in the U.S., Canada, and The Netherlands. With nearly 500 films and 7,500 episodes of television from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more, Disney+ is the exclusive home for some of the world’s most beloved stories as well as a robust slate of original content ready to be discovered.

As part of the launch, the service premiered its first original series and films including “The Mandalorian,” the epic first-ever live-action Star Wars series; “Lady and the Tramp,” a live-action re-telling of the 1955 animated classic; “Noelle,” an original holiday comedy film starring Anna Kendrick, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series,” the all-new scripted series set at the real-life East High featured in the blockbuster film franchise; “The World According to Jeff Goldblum” docu-series from National Geographic; “Marvel’s Hero Project,” which celebrates extraordinary kids making a difference in their communities; “Encore!,” executive produced by the multi-talented Kristen Bell; “The Imagineering Story” 6-part documentary from Emmy and Academy Award-nominated director Leslie Iwerks; short-form series “Pixar IRL” and “Disney Family Sundays;” and animated short film collections “SparkShorts” and “Forky Asks A Question” from Pixar Animation Studios.

Beginning November 15, most new episodes of each series will premiere on Fridays at 12:01 AM PST/3:01 AM EST.

In Disney+’s “Lady and the Tramp,” a timeless re-telling of the 1955 animated classic, a pampered house dog and a tough but lovable stray embark on an unexpected adventure and, despite their differences, grow closer and come to understand the value of home. Life is good for Lady, an overachieving American Cocker Spaniel who resides in an upscale suburban neighborhood. Her owners, Jim Dear and Darling, spoil her daily and her neighbors, Jock, an outspoken Scottish Terrier and Trusty, a world-weary Bloodhound, are always within barking distance. But when a baby enters the picture, Lady is no longer the center of attention, and the arrival of cat-loving Aunt Sarah only complicates matters. Lady soon finds herself alone on the streets in an unwelcoming part of town. Fortunately, Tramp steps in, and the streetwise mongrel is quick to teach her the ways of the world. Disney-Pixar's “TOY STORY 4” DVD Review & Giveaway


Just when you thought the 3rd sequel was the final, Pixar announces Toy Story 4 about 9 years later. I was nervous about the storyline. It actually turned out quite brilliant!

The following review may contain spoilers. If you haven't seen the film yet, you can skip this post to the end for the giveaway or read at your own risk.

So, the toys are now passed down to from Andy to a little girl named Bonnie. It was Bonnie's first day of Kindergarten. Woody decides to keep an eye on her and sneaks into her backpack. Bonnie was nervous and a little uncomfortable in a new environment at first. She tries to make a new friend but she was ignored. While Bonnie is distracted, Woody starts tossing random items like a plastic fork, pipecleaners, popsicle sticks and crafty scraps on the table by Bonnie. Bonnie notices the supplies and creates "Forky".

The film continues when Woody helps Forky to realize his identity and his importance to Bonnie. The family goes on a road trip and somehow Forky gets lost behind. Woody was destined to go out and bring him back.

Along the way while trying to locate the family’s camper, the toys encounter enemies, reunite with old friends, made new friends and save themselves from the villain. Gabby Gabby, the villain, is a doll with a broken voice box. She wants to go after Woody to replace hers. In the end, she just wanted to be played with and Woody helps Gabby Gabby get noticed by a lost and scared little girl at the carnival.

Ellen is a licensed acupuncturist, and certified in Chinese herbalism. She has taught Chinese Dietetics and its application in practice for NUNM’s Classical Chinese medicine program for the past 14 years and is currently adjunct faculty for the Masters of Science of Nutrition program and the Undergraduate College. 

Maya Klein’s passion for food has brought her to recipe development and cooking instruction, a departure from her professional training as an economist. Her Japanese and Czech heritage are reflected in her flexibility and innovation; the wide difference between these cuisines has facilitated her stretch outside of conventional foodways. 

Maya's work includes recipe development and testing for commercial clients and for numerous cookbooks, including The Joy of Cooking and eight books as assistant to Alice Medrich. She is co-author with Alice Medrich of James Beard Award -- winner Flavor Flours.

Six Month Countdown to 100th Vancouver Auto Show


Jimmy Pattison Named Honourary Chair of 100th Anniversary Auto Procession 


Vancouver, BC – Six months from today the doors of the Vancouver Convention Centre West (VCC) will open and history will be made as western Canada’s best attended trade and consumer event, the Vancouver International Auto Show, will mark its 100th anniversary.

The Vancouver Auto Show has always been a showcase for new technology, and the celebratory event (March 25-29, 2020) will reflect British Columbia’s rich automobile history, while also showcasing what’s next for the industry.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming auto enthusiasts from across British Columbia and the Northwest to the 2020 event,” says Blair Qualey, President and CEO of the New Car Dealers Association of BC (NCDA), which also presents the annual Show. “Planning for the 100th event started more than a year ago, and we’re excited to showcase many special vehicles, activations and displays that will be part of the 2020 event. Today marks the official countdown to the start of the celebration.”

Highlights of the 2020 show will include a special procession that will wind its way through the streets of Vancouver, ending at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, to officially open the show.

“We are honoured to announce one of the most impactful contributors to the sector in Canada, Mr. Jimmy Pattison, will be our Honorary 100th Anniversary event Chair and the Grand Marshall of the procession,” added Jeff Hall, Chairman of the NCDA Board of Directors. “The 100th Anniversary procession will include vehicles that represent each decade of the Vancouver Auto Show.”

“I’m very proud of our own involvement in the automotive industry. It’s where our company began back in 1961,” said Mr. Jim Pattison. “Today, the automotive industry remains the heart of our organization.”

FORD v FERRARI: New Trailer & Poster Released - In Theatres November 14!


20th Century Fox has released a new trailer and poster for their upcoming film FORD v FERRARI, based on the remarkable true story of the visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) and the fearless British-born driver Ken Miles (Christian Bale). The film follows Shelby and Miles, who battled corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford Motor Company and take on Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966. FORD v FERRARI also stars Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe, Tracy Letts, Josh Lucas, Noah Jupe, Remo Girone and Ray McKinnon. The film will be released on November 14 by The Walt Disney Studios.

Production Underway in South Carolina on Disney+ Original Film "SAFETY" Directed by Reginald Hudlin from Walt Disney Pictures


BURBANK, Calif. (September 13, 2019) — Production has begun on Walt Disney Pictures’ “Safety,” a drama inspired by the uplifting true story of former Clemson safety Ray McElrathbey, in South Carolina. The film, which is directed by Oscar® nominee Reginald Hudlin (“Django Unchained,” “Marshall”), written by Randy McKinnon (“Where the Water Runs”) and Nick Santora (“Scorpion,” “The Fugitive at Quibi”) and produced by Mark Ciardi (“Chappaquiddick,” “Invincible”), will stream exclusively on Disney+.

“Safety” is the empowering story of Ray McElrathbey, a young man facing a series of challenging circumstances, whose faith and persistence help him to triumph over repeated adversities and play football on scholarship at Clemson University, all while struggling to raise and care for his 11-year-old brother Fahmarr.

“This is a powerful script that touches everyone who reads it; and now we are assembling a cast of wonderful young actors who will bring Ray McElrathbey’s amazing true story to life on the screen,” says director Reginald Hudlin.

“Safety” will film on locations in both Clemson, South Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia before wrapping production in mid-November. The film starsJay Reeves (“All American”) as Ray; Thaddeus J. Mixson (“The Grind”) as Fahmarr; and Corinne Foxx (“47 Meters Down: Uncaged”) as Kaycee.

Demob Happy have announced they will be hitting the road this fall for their fourth North American tour. 2020 Subaru BRZ: The Most Affordable Rear-wheel Drive Sports Car in Canada

The 2020 BRZ remains a firm favourite among those who prefer an affordable rear-wheel drive sports car. With its ultra-low centre of gravity, and the classic front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout of a true sports car, the BRZ offers a fun drive with precision handling and impressive performance.

White Spot's 10th Annual Pirate Pak Day Raises $108,726 to Send Deserving Kids and Young Adults to Camp

VANCOUVER, BC (August 15, 2019) — Beloved BC restaurant chain White Spot reaffirmed its commitment to the community at large and raised a total of $108,726 to send deserving kids and young adults to White Spot Week at Zajac Ranch for Children during its 10th annual Pirate Pak Day yesterday.


Taking place at all 64 White Spot restaurants throughout BC and Alberta, Pirate Pak Day is an annual fundraiser that gives adults a one-day-only opportunity to relive childhood memories and support a worthy cause by ordering one of the famous kids’ combos served in the buccaneers’ boat.

Since its inception, Pirate Pak Day has raised $889,502 and sent more than 400 children to the White Spot Week at Zajac Ranch, a fully inclusive summer camp where everything is accessible for children and young adults with life-threatening illnesses and chronic disabilities. During the week, campers have an opportunity to explore the outdoors while developing greater social and environmental awareness, increased self-confidence, and positive attitudes towards physical activity.


“This fundraiser is all about kids — both the young and the young-at-heart,” says White Spot President Warren Erhart. “We’re thrilled that Pirate Pak Day continues to be one of the most anticipated events for both our staff and guests, and we are able to do our part to support a very worthy cause. We’re looking forward to surpassing the million-dollar mark during next year’s event.”

In 2018, almost a million Pirate Paks were ordered at White Spot restaurants. Since making its debut on the White Spot menu in 1968, more than 24 million Pirate Paks have been sold.
