Elite Serum RX Extra Strength {Review & Giveaway}

Do your eyes make you look older than you actually are? If you're looking for an anti-aging serum to reduce under-eye circle, puffiness, and/or fine lines & wrinkles, the Elite Serum RX Extra Strength might just be the solution. My biggest problem is the dark circles and puffiness. Now, I had the opportunity to try out this serum and noticed a slight difference after one week of daily use. It doesn't irritate and it is extremely effective. It's easy to use.

Developed by SkinPro (the same company that makes the BellaPulse Facial Care System), Elite Serum RX Extra Strength now contains a new extra strength formula with scientifically advanced peptides and moisturizers that have proven results.

What's unique with the packaging is that the serum comes in an airless syringe which helps dispense the right amount of product and also for sanitary reasons when it's not in use. It's important to keep it in an air-tight container so it doesn't get contaminated with any airborne bacteria. How to use: Take off the rubber tip, squeeze a small amount on finger tip and gently massage under and around eyes.

  • * Lifts and firms the skin
  • * Fills expression wrinkles
  • * Reduces the appearance of fine lines
  • * Minimizes eye puffiness
  • * Lightens dark circles
  • * Formulated with the highest concentration of medical grade ingredients
  • * No injection needed
  • * Ultra-lightweight and fast-absorbing

WHERE TO BUY:  You can purchase EliteSerumRX Extra Strength via the online store at www.eliteserum.com

Neighborhood Small Grants Program: Chinese Calligraphy Workshop

On Monday evening (May 25th), we had a fun workshop here at Frog Hollow Neighborhood House learning Chinese Calligraphy. This was a Small Grants funded event that was facilitated by Shinda, Lulu and Maggie. Children were also welcomed to participate. There was also childminding available for those who needed.

Chinese Calligraphy is a form of calligraphy widely practiced in China. There are various styles of calligraphy. The calligraphy of Chinese characters is an important and appreciated aspect of Chinese culture.

We learned about the basic strokes of the Chinese characters and how to handle the inked brushes. Also, special types of paper are used in Chinese Calligraphy.

Everyone had fun learning from each other. All it was is to get used to holding the brush and knowing how much ink is applied, using light strokes and heavy strokes. Just keep on practicing!

The Heart-Mind Well-Being educates individuals to promote emotional development and well-being in children as well as adults.

We had three community projects that was presented in this celebration:

    1) Our Hearts Are Full – with Kyra Dawson

Our Hearts Are FullKyra was not able to make it to the celebration so Eva filled in for her. The project was a non-competitive game board that encourages co-operation instead of competition based on the values of the Heart-Mind Index.

    2) Compromisos de Corazon (Commitments of the Heart) – with Ana Lorena and Maria Helena

Commitments of the HeartFor their Spanish drop-in group, they created a beautiful display with special material and they showed us how they implemented the Heart-Mind using each of 5 domains of the heart into their weekly activities. Each color-coded pocket of contains index cards with written thoughts and ideas from parents/caregivers. There are pictures from the activities as well.

    3) Expressions of the Heart: The Star Child – with Carrie Yan and Theresa Zhao
The Star ChildTheresa presented the project at this celebration. When all 5 hearts (the 5 domains) are placed together in a circle, a star shape appears in the center. This represents that that child is the star. The display was used in the Family Drop-In programs to remind parents and caregivers how the can do a simple task that shows compassion.

Each of these projects are different, yet all are very good idea and excellent approach to teaching our children about our well-being. We can all learn from each other.

Wiz Khalifa - See You Again ft. Charlie Puth

    For Paul

Wiz Khalifa - See You Again ft. Charlie Puth

"See You Again" is from the original Furious 7 soundtrack. This is is a tribute song to the late Paul Walker who died in a tragic car crash on November 30, 2013. I really love this song and the lyrics. I've seen the movie, Furious 7, and I was holding in my tears during the ending scene. It was very emotional for many of us. We miss you Paul! Not a day goes by without a thought of him.

    Alphabet Photography Review

I recently discovered Alphabet Photography and I absolutely love the idea. It is the ultimate personalized gift with thousands of photos from all over the world! These letter art makes a great addition to any home decor and great gift for any occasion.

Father's Day is just less than a month away so there's still time to send him a unique personalized and framed gift.  I think it's the perfect gift for the dads or husbands.

At first, I wanted to create the word "DREAM", but then I remembered that I already had a wall decal with that word. So then I finally decided with the word "INSPIRE" because these photography artwork inspire me and I love to inspire others with my creativity.

When it was delivered to my door, I was very excited. It was carefully wrapped to protect it from damage. I was very impressed with the quality of both the photographs and the frame it came with. This is absolutely beautiful!

I love every kind of photography. The human alphabet really had my attention. This idea came from Photographer Jennifer Blakeley, who is also the founder of Alphabet Photography Inc. She met with high profile Canadian gymnasts to shape their bodies into all 26 letters of the alphabet.

The Alphabet Photography project was inspired by a children's book called "Alphabet City" published in 1999 by Stephen T. Johnson. Jennifer spent a large part of 2006/2007 traveling North America with only one goal in mind: to collect a complete gallery of photographs that look like letters of the English Alphabet. All of her photographs are of objects found in their natural surroundings that are un-staged and not found in any pre-existing signage. Jennifer and her husband Sam run the business together in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Disclosure: I received my own personalized letter art in exchange of my honest review in this post. Any expressed opinions are my own and personal thoughts. No other compensation was given.

How to Look Cool as the Weather Heats Up

As summer kicks into high gear, looking fresh as the temperature sores can be a challenge. Helping you to stay gorgeous from day to night is Global Makeup Artist and Co-Founder of sonic makeup application device Color Me, Eric Jimenez.

Here, he shares his top tips:

Cover Up: We all know that it is critical to protect yourself from sun damage as the weather warms up. Look for a foundation that also contains an SPF to ensure that you’re getting coverage even if you forget the sunscreen. Be sure to also seek shade when outdoors, or top your mop with a stylish hat to provide additional protection.

Fresh Formulations: Unlike winter, which calls for a heavier product, summer weather demands light as air coverage. Foundations can be switched out for BB or CC creams or a mineral powder for those who need less coverage. Apply with your Color Me sonic makeup application device to buff onto the skin for staying power and to ensure the look does not slip, slide or crease for the eight hours of your day!

Act Natural: The warm weather months are the perfect time to play with a natural and sun-kissed look. Keep your brows tidy, and dust your lids with a touch of shimmer highlighter, or a bronze or copper shadow to create the illusion of a bronzed goddess. The same hues can be used on cheeks for contouring – nobody will know you didn’t just spend hours on the beach! Top with a waterproof mascara and a light gloss on your lips.

And Turn Up the Volume: For a nighttime look that really pops, summer is the optimal time to experiment! One of my favorite looks from the runways was the bright liner. Prep your lids with foundation to eliminate any discoloration and sweep with a light wash of shimmering beige, taupe, coffee or bronze. Then, swap your black or brown liner for an electric green, purple or blue shade and wiggle along the lashline making it a tad thicker than usual for drama. Curl the lashes, apply mascara and a glossy lip and get ready to turn heads all night long.

Heat and humidity have met their match – these looks have staying power and will ensure you look gorgeous even in the height of summer.

Alex’s Lemonade Days: Cure Childhood Cancer

Alex’s Lemonade Days is an annual 3-day fundraiser where supporters from coast to coast hold lemonade stands to raise funds for childhood cancer research.

Lemonade Days is held each year during the second weekend of June - the time of year when Alex always held her lemonade stand - to honor Alex and all of our childhood cancer heroes. This year, it will be on Friday, June 12, 2015 - Sunday, June 14, 2015 and it will happen nationwide (U.S.)!

Since Alex’s first front yard lemonade stand, there have been more than 20,000 ALSF lemonade stands held across the country and world. Alex’s Lemonade Stands make a meaningful difference at any time of the year, however Lemonade Days is a time when supporters join forces and hold stands simultaneously to be a part of our largest annual fundraiser. In the spirit of Alex’s ambitious goal to raise $1 million, which she reached before she passed away in 2004, Lemonade Days weekend consistently raises $1 million annually.

    How YOU can help:

Join the national movement to fight childhood cancer by hosting a lemonade stand during Alex's Lemonade Days and to register for a free fundraising kit. Visit LemonadeDays.org and register by June 5, 2015 to request a free fundraising kit and to access downloadable materials for your lemonade stand. The kits include needed materials; posters, banners, thank you notes, fundraising tips, and more.
