Vancouver-based Singer/Songwriter Daniel Wesley Releases New Album "I Am Your Man"
On May 5, acclaimed Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Daniel Wesley is set to release his new album I Am Your Man, his first release on his own label, Beachgrove Records, featuring 10 new tracks including the lead single “Shake.”
I Am Your Man sees Wesley returning to the groove-based, rootsy sound that helped establish his reputation when he first arrived on the scene in the mid-2000s. Since then, he’s built his ever-growing fan base through a rigorous touring schedule, and now sells out venues such as Vancouver’s Commodore Ballroom on a consistent basis.
Daniel Wesley returns to the Commodore on June 6. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster. More tour dates to be announced soon!
About Daniel Wesley:
If making music isn’t about having fun, what’s the point in doing it? That philosophy sums up Daniel Wesley’s new album, I Am Your Man, the Vancouver based singer-songwriter’s seventh studio release. This is the first album Wesley has produced on his own since 2007, allowing him to dedicate his time to the creative process. The track “Fuel To Fire” from his previous album, Ocean Wide, earned him a nomination for Songwriter of the Year at the 2013 West Coast Music Awards.

"This was a process of recording I haven't done before," Wesley says. Recorded in two separate sessions exactly one year apart, he revisits collaborations with a trusted group of musicians, including Wesley’s longtime rhythm section of drummer Tim Proznick and bassist Darren Parris, along with saxophonist Alex Maher and keyboardist/guitarist Mike Kenney. “Usually my songs are just a reflection of where I’m at in my life,” Wesley continues. “I was kind of open to new ideas and new opportunities, and I’m really proud of how these songs have come out.”
