Emmy Award-winner Daytime Series "The Doctors" Launched it's 5th Season
Season five of the Emmy® Award-winning daytime series The Doctors launched on Monday, September 10 with “The Most Surprising Episode Ever!” where co-hosts Dr. Travis Stork, Dr. Lisa Masterson, Dr. Jim Sears, and Dr. Andrew Ordon shock the audience and viewers at home with surprisingly “bad” things that boost your health, a mystery celebrity guest with an oh-so-familiar voice, and The Doctors’ BIGGEST makeover in show history. The co-hosts also receive a surprise of their own when a viewer stops in to reveal how watching The Doctors helped saved the life of her infant son.
“For the past four seasons, The Doctors has delivered trustworthy health and wellness information to viewers who have come to expect nothing less from us,” said executive producer Carla Pennington. “Season five will see a continuation of that commitment to viewers; empowering people to take action and make the best decisions when it comes to their health, while translating complicated information through the entertaining and unique approach that set the standard for our genre.”
The Doctors is introducing “Tuesdays with Travis” where Dr. Travis will tackle some of the most prevalent health issues forcing Americans in to the emergency room at alarming rates. From obesity and diabetes to nutrition and hypertension, Dr. Travis takes a 360-degree approach to inform viewers on ways in which they can improve their health. “Tuesdays with Travis” will debut September 25 with “Dr. Travis’ Secrets to Stop Feeling Sick, Fat, & Tired!”
The Doctors premiere week will feature the following in addition to “The Most Surprising Episode Ever!”:
“The Doctors Get Their Game On!” – Some experts say games help the brain retain information, so The Doctors is putting the theory to the test with a few new games inspired by TV favorites!: Guess That Calorie Count!, New Dad Diaper Duel, and Who Wants To Be A… DOCTOR!?
“Never Give Up! 4 Incredible Medical Stories” – The Doctors takes a powerful look into the once-secret world of autism and speak with a single mother who survived a life threatening illness, but was faced with the quadruple amputation of her limbs. The co-hosts also look at how music had a life-altering impact on one Alzheimer patient and speak with a man who spent 52 hours clinging to the side of a cliff waiting for help to arrive.
“How To Avoid Awkward Health Situations” – Whether it’s a friend with BAD Breath, a co-worker with BAD hygiene, or a Stranger with BAD manners, The Doctors reveals the best ways to deal with these very AWKWARD health situations once and for all!
“10 Summer Health Habits to Keep Year Round” – The summer months are behind us, so The Doctors tell viewers which summer habits to keep year round, and which to pack away until next year.
