Book Review: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Sugar-Free Cooking and Baking

I received "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Sugar-Free Cooking and Baking" as well as the Fall 2012 Catalogue. Recently, I've been trying to make more healthy meals for the family and have been searching for great recipes to try. We are trying to eat healthier.

I wanted to reduce the sugar intake with the snacks and desserts especially for my preschooler. Many foods and snacks that you find out there in stores are quite high in sugar. Sugar can be off-limits for a number of reasons. Whether you've decided to go sugar free for specific health reasons such as diabetes, lose weight, cut back on your sugar consumption  or want to raise kids without unhealthy processed sugars filling their diet, this is a great book for you. Whatever your goals may be, let this book be your guide to the ins and outs of cookig, baking, and eating sugar free.

I was really happy with the sugar-free recipes that I tried from this book. You'll find over 200 delicious sugar-free recipes including jams, soups, salads, cookies, cakes, pudding, ice-creams and other treats. You might wonder how flavorful are the sugar-free recipes. The book mentions that ingredients may include sugar-free juices, sugar substitutes, dried fruits and/or fresh fruits and vegetables. There's lots of great recipes I want to try. I have yet to try the "Roasted Salmon with Mustard and Dill", "Crispy Toasty Apple", "Mixed Berry Crumble" and much more! Inside the book doesn't show you any pictures, but they all sound delicious!
