Restaurant Review: Volcano Sushi Restaurant
Recently, Hubby and I decided to try a new place to have dinner. At first, I was thinking of having sushi at our usual place, but remembered there was another sushi restaurant nearby on the same street. We stopped by Volcano Sushi located on Hastings St. near Commercial Drive in Vancouver, BC. I really like the unique variety and the price was pretty reasonable (about the same as the other place we go to). My favorite was the "Hastings Roll", the "Volcano Roll", and especially the fried banana & ice-cream dessert. Overall (first-time) experience: Food was great, service was great, and price is decent.
[Update 2017] We haven't been back there in a few years now. The last time we visited, we didn't eat there because the staff didn't seem too friendly. What happened was that we arrived 10 minutes early, but the door was opened. The staff just told us that they are still closed and didn't do anything. They could've offered us to sit and wait for a bit. It was kind of rude of them so we left and decided to go somewhere else for lunch.
My rating: 2.5 stars
Deluxe Sushi
Fresh Oysters
Volcano Roll
Fried Bananas with Ice-Cream

The real definition of awesomeness! I've heard a of lot of things about this Volcano Sushi. I haven't been there, but I might try it this weekend after I visit my uncle in Venables Street. I'm glad you liked the service. That's what I'm after the most. How much time did you spend on waiting?
