The 7th Annual NYC Independent Film Festival
The 7th Annual NYC Independent Film Festival will take place this year from April 27th to May 1st, 2016 in the heart of New York City. The festival will screen over 200 films from every corner of the world, in addition to hosting networking events, panels, and seminars.
As prominently expressed in its name, the NYC Independent Film Festival champions the indie filmmaker, giving a voice to the creative, passionate individuals following their dreams in the film industry. The festival recognizes that independent is not a negative indicator of quality, and they're proud to showcase some of the top works being made today from all over the world, sharing them with audiences that these filmmakers may otherwise not have the opportunity to reach.
"This year will be our biggest and busiest year ever," shares Executive Director and Founder, Dennis Cieri. "We have expanded our number of panels, talks, seminars, and networking events, plus we added more live performances and great parties. Join us!"

This year, the festival has teamed up with Hostos Community College in the Bronx. Select students from the CUNY school will participate in an internship with the NYC Independent Film Festival to learn all that goes into festival curation, production, and working in the film industry. Members of the festival's executive team will guest lecture at the college, and film educators from the Hostos community will lend their industry experience at some of the many panels and seminars taking place at this year's event. The festival is placing a heavy emphasis on educating young, independent filmmakers by offering panels and seminars on a wide variety of topics including Film Distribution, Music Licensing, Film Finance, Animation, Virtual Reality, and many more.
The NYC Independent Film Festival celebrates true independent cinema. The non-profit organization's mission is to support independent filmmakers and showcase the best independent films, from all around the world, to the public and the entertainment industry in New York City.
