Recipe: Mixed Berry Crumble
Serves approx 24
The portion is a lot, I know. This is the exact recipe I followed at a Community Kitchen session. This is one of my favorite desserts.
INGREDIENTS:
15 cups mixed frozen or fresh berries (or any other fruit such as apples)
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 flour
2-1/2 cups brown sugar
1-3/4 cups flour
2 cups rolled oats
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1-1/2 cups cold butter, cut into cubes
PREPARATION:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2) Toss fruit in white sugar and the first amount of flour. Spread evenly in a 12 inch pan.
3) Mix brown sugar, flour oats, salt thoroughly. Add butter and cut it into dry ingredients until crumbly.
4) Sprinkle oat mixture over fruit.
5) Bake for 30-40 minutes or until topping is crispy.
6) Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or yogurt.
