Book Review: "Where Earth Meets Water" by Pia Padukone

WHERE EARTH MEETS WATER introduces the reader to the unimaginable existence of Karom Seth. Karom was supposed to be on the observation deck of the Twin Towers on the morning of 9/11, but was late. He stayed at college to study for finals instead of vacationing in India when the 2004 tsunami swept his entire family into the ocean. He's been able to stay alive, but has he really survived? Whether it's a blessing or a curse, Karom's absence from the disasters have left him with immerse guilt and an unsettling belief that fate has made him invincible.

His quest for understanding consumes everyone around him, from his best friend and college roommate, Lloyd, to his girlfriend, Gita, who hopes a trip to India will help him find the peace he is seeking. When Karom meets Gita's grandmother, Kamini, he may have found the one person who can lead him to the clarity he has been looking for.

Amazing novel with a clear storyline. You just want to keep reading and reading to find out what's next.
