Shortbread Birds Nest Cookies
Makes about 3-4 dozen
INGREDIENTS:
1Lb 10oz Flour
10oz shortening
10oz margarine
11oz sugar
1/4oz baking soda
Jam
PREPARATION:
- Preheat oven to 350F
- In a large bowl, mix together dry ingredients
- combine the shortening, margarine and the flour mixture until smooth and well mixed
- take a small amount of the dough and roll it into a ball
- use your thumb and make an imprint in the center of the dough and place about a 1/2 tsp of jam inside
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until light brown.
