Romantic Anniversary Getaway

It was the weekend before our anniversary and Hubby made plans for just the two of us (no kids and no other family members) to spend the entire evening and next day. It was a lovely surprise when he brought me to the Pinnacle Hotel at The Pier located in North Vancouver, BC.

Hubby got the Romantic Waterfront Package that included dinner (each an appetizer, entree, and a dessert to share) and even had champagne delivered to our hotel room. We had a nice dinner at the restaurant at The Lobby. The food was nice.

Tuna Tataki (Sesame seared blue rare Ahi)

Grilled Sea Scallops (Citrus baby shrimp risotto, broccolini & glazed local beets with white wine butter sauce)

Pan Seared Arctic Char (Light saffron risotto, broccolini with lemon, tomato, shallot and caper relish)

DESSERT: Blueberry Creme Brulee

It was a perfect evening. After having dinner, we went back to our hotel room to get changed and headed out to Lighthouse Park to catch the sunset. The view was amazing! Quite a bit of hiking and walking, but it was worth the effort to get to the cliffs.

It was getting dark after 9:30pm and we had to get to the gates by 10:30pm closing time. It was pitched dark and it would be impossible to find our way back without any light. I was exhausted from all the walking and hiking and was working up a sweat! When we finally got back to the hotel, we cleaned up with a nice hot bath and sipped on champagne (Jaume Serra Cristalino).
