The Negative Effects of Smartphone Screen Time Before Bedtime
Did you know that staring at your smartphone screen before bedtime can be harmful to your health?
Staring at screens right before sleep turns out to be a lot worse than previously thought. Dr. Dan Siegel, clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA School of Medicine, lays out all of the negative effects bedtime screen viewing can have on the brain and body.
Smartphones and tablets emit "blue light", which is picked up by the special cells behind your eyeballs that tell your brain that it's morning. The opposite is "red light" which signals your brain that it is time to go to sleep.
If you're one of those who can't put the phone or tablet own during bedtime, I think it's time to make those changes and give yourself a better rest.
