Underappreciated

I haven't been able to sleep lately for the past few weeks. I've been feeling unmotivated these days. I apologize that I haven't updated either.

I'm just frustrated again! I've joined a few groups on deviantART community to mainly share my work and make new friends. One of the groups I joined had denied EVERY SINGLE work I submitted. I'm not going to list the name. It seems as the group admins only care about the more well-known artists and less chance for the rest. I see artwork that are no better than mine and they got accepted in the gallery. I would also like to add that one of their mods said to me they accept painting only from scratch. The gallery contains other people's art that had used references. What's with that? I feel underappreciated and it's making me feel miserable. Not trying to be rude or anything, but I believe that every artist have their own style and that's what makes them unique.

More importantly, I'm glad that some of you out there are showing me support. I love you guys.

UPDATE: Waking up with sore eyes, that thought is still in my head. When I logged in, I saw some of the responses from some of you. Thanks for taking the time to read my problem and sharing me your thoughts too. It means a lot to me. I plan to leave the group soon since it's kinda pointless if I can't share my work there. Because of this issue, I'm going to take a break from art for a while. I hope you understand. Don't worry, I will be back with some new works soon; just don't know when. Art will always be with me. It's my passion.

Tiny Rainbow Rose Bouquet in a Mini Jar

Happy Valentine's Day... (and Happy Chinese New Years)! I had a last minute request to make this Tiny Rainbow Rose Bouquet in a mini glass jar. This was a commission and custom-made. I was able to fit about 5 mini origami roses in the tiny jar. He wanted this idea for a Valentine's gift. After I finished, I didn't expect it would look this CUTE! It was perfect! And I was pretty happy with the result. Another sale! Thanks for the interest with my creations.

Artwork: Love is in the Air (World of Warcraft)

It has been a week since playing World of Warcraft and I'm missing it. Anyway, I've become more inspired into creating more Warcraft fan art. The Valentine "Love is in the Air" theme has started, I had another creative idea. And this is for all you Warcraft fans out there.

This Draenei angel travels through Azeroth on her mission to cast her arrows of love and matching the perfect couples during Valentine's. Digital painting and photo-manipulation using Photoshop CS4. Various stock resources and references used. Some of my own digitally painted work with my own photography references.

World of Warcraft: Romantic Evening

Something I did for fun here. This artwork was created for The-Warcraft-Legion Club's "Love is in the Air" Contest. Two night elves share a romatic moment during Valentine's Day on a flying carpet where they watch the sunset sky over Stormwind Harbour.

~ Software used: Photoshop CS4, WoW Model Viewer
~ Background: screenshot at Stormwind Harbour
~ Night Elf Characters copyright of Blizzard
~ Some parts are digitally painted by me for touch-ups
~ Story idea also by me

Chocolate Charms: Looks Yummy, but not Edible

OK, I took a little break from Digital Art for a couple weeks and been doing some artisan crafts making polymer clay miniatures again. I've made some new stuff and this time I attempted to make chocolate truffles and chocolate cakes.

It looks good enough to eat, doesn't it? These miniature charms are perfect for cell phone accessories, pendants/necklace, and earrings. They are also great for gifts for this upcoming Valentine's. They are about diameter size of a penny.

Chocolate Truffle Charms and Mini Chocolate Cake Charms are now available for sat for $5.00US. There is only a limited supply, so get yours now while supplies last. Each miniature charm comes with a 2" black dangle strap/cord.

Video Tutorial: Origami Rose

Hi guys! I just took the advantage of the time to record this while my little one is asleep.

Here is a tutorial on how I make the Kawasaki Origami Rose. It looks complicated, but it took me a lot of practice to get it perfect. No written instructions for it yet. Hope you can follow the video.

There are many other variations that different people fold this. Just stick to whichever one that you're most comfortable with; otherwise you'll get confused.
