Tsawwassen Mills Shopping Mall Experience

Tsawwassen Mills is a new shopping mall built by Ivanhoe Cambridge and its grand opening was on October 5, 2016. Thousands of people visited the huge mall during that opening weekend and from what I saw on the news, traffic was a chaos. I was glad that I waited.

It was about less than 2 months that I decided to check it out since I was in the area after picking up a parcel in Point Roberts, WA. The mall was less busy as it was a weekday morning. Probably also because it was pouring rain that day. My first reaction was feeling amazed with large parking lot and the spacious walking areas inside the mall. The mall is only one level. It's not as huge as Metrotown in Burnaby. The displays and monuments were beautiful. Since the holiday is coming, Christmas decorations filled the court.

I shopped at a few places and found some great deals. I bought a couple of boy's clothing for my son to give on Christmas.

There was also the Pepper Palace (the only location in Western Canada) that is finally open. It was my first time visiting this store and was fascinated with so many flavoured hot sauce, including bbq sauce and pasta sauce. The store has an open bar where you can try different flavours before you buy. I think it's a good idea. The signs also tell you the level of spiciness.

The food court was clean and it looked comfy. It's a nice atmosphere to be in and to enjoy your meal.

My overall experience: Tsawwassen Mills is nothing spectacular, but it is a comfortable shopping experience. I do like how the sections are colour-coded; even the lighting is coloured. There are shops that's only in the US that's now closer to home.

Like almost every mall, there's a fun playground for little kids. It's great that there's a large space for the kids to run around in while the parents relax and see their little ones play.
