Westcoast Road Trip Day 5: Exploring San Francisco

It was an exhausting day! It was a nice, hot sunny day. It was about 25*C and the sun was beating down. I even had bad allergies/hay fever. Don't mind me if some of my sentences don't make sense. It's hard to concentrate typing while having this horrible allergy (and made my eyes hurt).

We went exploring around San Francisco city. Again, we hated the uneven, cracked pavement of the streets. Seems like most of the city roads are really bad. Anyway, we drove up to the Golden Gate Bridge, but this time we checked it out from the north side. It was a perfect view. I even took a few close-ups of some boats. And there was a tunnel of the hwy going through the mountain. That was neat.

Then we headed over to Japantown and Chinatown. There was a mall in Japantown that reminded me of Aberdeen Mall back in our home in Richmond, BC, Canada. There were so many restaurants and fast food shops. We had lunch there. It's like food everywhere.

After checking out the shops in Japantown, we headed over to Chinatown. We drove over there and parked at the meter parking. Since I was almost out of change, we only put in for 20 minutes just walking up and down the streets and looking in a few stores that seemed interesting to us. Chinatown in San Francisco is the oldest and one of the largest Chinatowns in North America. It's way bigger than our Vancouver Chinatown by about 3X. It's really nice. What I also noticed about the streets is that there's always a Jackson St. in Chinatown (including Vancouver, Portland, and Seattle).

After buying a few souvenirs, we decided to go back to our hotel to rest. We were planning to go to Fisherman's Wharf for some activities, but we were so exhausted and decided to skip it. We already checked it out yesterday night, but it was not much to see as some of the shops were closing. We might pass by on our way back home in a couple weeks. So it wasn't a big deal.
