Event Recap: Hello Kitty Supercute Friendship Festival

The Hello Kitty Supercute Friendship Festival happened over the weekend for 3 days (July 17-19) in Vancouver, BC at the PNE Forum. I had the chance to attend this event thanks to Hubby for the tickets as part of my birthday gift. Hubby, Little One, and I went together. It was very popular as we noticed a huge crowd and the line-up went all the way around the building. Pretty much 90% of the people were Asian.

When we got into the building, the event/venue wasn't as big as I thought It would be. As we entered, the staff scanned our tickets and then volunteers handed out program guide and Hello Kitty Ear Hats.

This was Hello Kitty's first North American tour. The Festival included art, fashion, displays, animation, face-painting, vendors, and a stage where we see dancers, singing, and other entertainment. Seems like there is always a long line up for everything, including taking photos of displays.

There was this super long line-up for the character photo opp. We went to the line up twice and still didn't get a chance to do a "meet & greet" with Hello Kitty. The staff keeps cutting off halfway through the line because the characters had to do a performance on stage. So it was frustrating.

Question is: Would I go again if they have it next year? Probably not as it as it is a little bit too crazy for me. If it was in Japan, think I would go again because I'm sure it would be a much larger event. But if you're a HUGE fan, maybe you would enjoy it. It is quite an interesting experience if you're a first-timer at any Sanrio or Hello Kitty Festival.
