Road Trip: Parksville and Qualicum Beach, BC

It was early Monday morning and our family road trip starts. It was just three of us: Hubby, Little Brandon, and I. We had to wake up early to catch our Ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo, BC.

We stayed one night in Parksville. Our main trip there was to visit Englishman River Falls Provincial Park in Errington, BC and Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park. Both were quite nice, easy trails.

After our nature walk, we went to our hotel to check in and had a little rest before dinner time. We were deciding where to eat and thought we try Mekong River Vietnamese Restaurant that was nearby. It was a small restaurant and the menu was a bit over-priced, but the service was superb. The food was great as well and not very greasy at all.

The last place we went to visit before the end of the day was to check out the beach. We stopped by at Parksville Walkway - Oceanside Community Park. It was beautiful and looked really relaxing. There was a huge kids playground, waterpark, boardwalk, sandy beachy areas, and sand sculpture displays. The sand sculpture section was closed off with gates and public admission was $2.50, but we didn't go in. We saw a sneak peek of some of the displays through the sides though.
